Welcome Second Graders to Room 2104 Dear Parents and Student, Hello. It is almost time for your child to return to school. I hope that everyone has had a restful and fun summer vacation. I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Tina Woods, and I will be your child's second grade teacher. This will be my eighth year of teaching at Jackson Magnet. I have been teaching in the St. Paul District for eleven years. As a parent I feel fortunate that my own daughters attended Jackson. Being a parent as well as a teacher, I encourage open communication between us. Please contact me anytime you have a concern, joy, or question about your child's learning or well being in class. You can write to me in the daily planner, e-mail me, or leave me a message. I will do my best to contact you during my prep or after school. I welcome any parent or family member who would like to volunteer in the classroom or on outings. Let me know if this interests you. There are many ways you can contribute to our class: assist in classroom, tutor a child, plan classroom parties, chaperone a field trip, or share a talent. This could be a one-time event or an ongoing one. Our school focus is reading, writing, and math. We will be using the models of Reader's Workshop, Writer's Workshop and Everyday Math. I am very excited to start our year together. I look forward to meeting you all. Below is a list of needed supplies: Sincerely, Tina R. Woods, Grade 2 Room 2104 |
